AIRSHIP
Airship chronicles the 2005 expedition of aeronaut Dr. Graham Dorrington and his wondrous flying machine, in Guyana. Ostensibly built to silently explore jungle canopies for scientific understanding, Dorrington’s ship is a beautiful and profound expression of the longing to fly, following from Leonardo da Vinci, Brescian monk Francesco de Lana-Terzi, and countless other scientists, engineers, and artists who have dreamed of flight. The photographs were created during the filming of Werner Herzog’s documentary of the undertaking, The White Diamond.
